Bryan R. Martin has served as Chairman of the Board since December 2003. Mr. Martin has served as Chief Executive Officer and as a director of the Company since February 2002. From February 2001 to February 2002, he served as President and Chief Operating Officer and a director of the Company. He served as Senior Vice President, Engineering Operations from July 2000 to February 2001 and as the Company's Chief Technical Officer from August 1995 to August 2000.
Ret. Major General Guy L. Hecker, Jr. has served as a director of the Company since August 1997. He has served as the President of Stafford, Burke and Hecker, Inc., a consulting firm based in Alexandria, Virginia, since 1982. Prior to his retirement from the Air Force in 1982, Ret. Major General Hecker's duties included serving as Director of the Air Force Office of Legislative Liaison and an appointment in the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff, Research, Development and Acquisition for the Air Force. During his Air Force career, Major General Hecker was awarded a number of military decorations, including the Air Force Distinguished Service Medal, the Silver Star, the Legion of Merit (awarded twice) and the Distinguished Flying Cross
Mansour Salame was the founder of Contactual, Inc, a cloud-based contact center provider that was acquired by 8x8 in September 2011. At the time of the acquisition, Salame served as the Chairman of Contactual's Board of Directors. Up until 2010, he served as Contactual's Chairman and CEO. Prior to establishing Contactual, Salame was the founder and CEO of NextAge Technologies, a forecasting and scheduling software company that was acquired by Alcatel. Prior to NextAge, he established and ran the Southern European Offices and Operations for Genesys Telecommunications Laboratories, Inc. Salame began his career at Andersen Consulting, where he was instrumental in the call center vertical, helping Fortune 1000 companies structure and build innovative call centers. He holds a Master of Science degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University and a Bachelor of Science degree in electrical engineering from Northwestern University.
Mr. Salzman has nearly 20 years of experience investing in and working with emerging growth companies. He is the Managing Member of SarniHaan Capital Partners, a boutique consulting firm he established to target special situation investments in small cap and middle market companies and is currently a Senior Advisor to Coller Capital and Monarch Capital Group, LLC. He previously spent nine years at Lehman Brothers Holdings, Inc., including Managing Director in the Global Trading Strategies Division and Senior Vice President in Lehman's Private Equity Group. In 2008, Salzman was hired by Alvarez and Marsal, Lehman's restructuring advisor, to oversee the management of a $4 billion portfolio of private equity and illiquid credit investments on behalf of the Lehman bankruptcy estate. Prior to Lehman Brothers, Salzman was a senior research analyst covering technology and telecom at Basso Capital Management, a multi-strategy investment fund, and a senior investment professional at both Gramercy Communications Partners, a communications-focused private equity fund, and Credit Suisse Asset Management. Salzman began his career in the M&A Group at First Boston and has served on several public and private boards. He has a MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business and a BA from the University of Michigan.
Vikram ("Vic") Verma is President of Strategic Venture Development for Lockheed Martin (LM), where he is responsible for identifying and exploiting commercial market opportunities and new business models for existing LM technologies, programs and non-core businesses. Previously, Verma was Chief Executive Officer of Savi Technology, Inc. (Savi), a leader in RFID-based tracking and security solutions and a pioneer in managed service offerings for government and commercial logistics applications. Verma became President and Chief Executive Officer of Savi in 1997, and in partnership with venture capitalists from Silicon Valley and Singapore, he led the management buyout of Savi from Raytheon in May 1999. Over the next six years, Verma engineered the transformation of the business by acquiring Ace Fusion, a provider of web-based supply chain execution software, and by creating a joint venture with Hutchison Ports (a subsidiary of Hutchison Whampoa) to enable tracking and securing of global cargo containers via the use of wireless and cellular networks. In 2006, Verma led the acquisition of Savi by Lockheed Martin.
Verma holds a B.S. degree from the Florida Institute of Technology (co-valedictorian), an M.S.E. degree from the University of Michigan, and the graduate Engineers degree in electrical engineering from Stanford University. Verma has been granted eight patents and, in 1994, his Direction Finding Tag product was recognized as the "Most Innovative Technology Developed by a Small Business" by the White House Office of Science and Technology. He has won numerous other accolades, including being named one of 40 "Technology Pioneers" by the World Economic Forum, in Davos, Switzerland in 2003.
